Web Based

Starting December 1st, 2007 Swiftel will be offering a new web-based e-mail client to our customers. Many customers have requested a better client with more features available. The old web-mail client will still be available until April 1st, 2008 at which time customers will no longer be able to view new e-mail using the old web-mail. We recommend that you forward to yourself from the old web-mail, any e-mails you would like to keep, and receieve them using the new web-mail client.

*** Please note, you will only be able to access your spam filter settings through the OLD web-mail. On March 18th, the link will no longer function in the old web-mail, and the link in the new web-mail will work. .

Features: Important notes for users of our old web mail client:
  • Read, send and organize e-mail
  • Calendar
  • Contact list
  • Task lists
  • Notes
  • Online help
  • E-mail filters
  • Message rules
  • Search!

If you use a regular e-mail client (i.e. Outlook, Outlook Express) in addition to our web-mail client there is a difference in our new web-mail that you should be aware of.

Unlike our old web-mail client, our new one does NOT copy the e-mail on the server. In other words, when you check your e-mail in Outlook, unless you have it checked to leave e-mail on the server, once it is downloaded to Outlook the e-mail will no longer appear in your web-mail.

A solution to this would be to either set your e-mail client (i.e. Outlook, etc) to leave e-mail on the server, or create a folder in your web-mail and copy messages to that folder before checking e-mail through Outlook.

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. All my e-mail from the old web-mail is missing, how do I get them in the new web-mail?

Login to the old web-mail using the link above, and forward to yourself any e-mail you would like to keep including sent items. Make sure to log out right after, and login in to the new web-mail to receive the messages. You can then sort the messages into different folders.

2, How can I transfer my address book to the new web-mail?

If you want to transfer your addresses from our old web-mail client, the best way is to just copy and paste between the two. In the old web-mail, click on addresses. Open the new web-mail in another browser window and click on the (+) next to Organizing, then the (+) nex to Address Book, and finally click on New Contact. Now just copy and paste from the address book in the old web-mail into the new.
3. I deleted an e-mail, but it still appears in my inbox.

When you delete an e-mail, it actually only marks for deletion. To remove the e-mail permanently, you need to click on 'purge deleted' in the upper right corner. As an alternative, you can use a trash/empty trash setup similar to Outlook by click on Options -->Mail --> Deleting and Moving Messages.

4. How do I create a folder?

The easiest way to create a folder is to select an e-mail in your inbox, then in the drop down box next to move | copy, choose New Folder. Next click on either copy or move and type the name of your new folder in the box that appears.
5. When creating an e-email, I saved it as a draft to continue later. Where do I find the saved draft?

To get to the "drafts" folder, you need to first make sure you in are in the Mail section by clicking on the Mail in the left menu box. You should then see a folder drop down list in the upper-right corner. In that drop down box you should be able to select "drafts" and access the message you saved.
