Checking your Settings in Outlook Express (Macintosh)

    Outlook Express 5
    • Open Outlook Express.
    • Select the Tools menu.
    • Select the Accounts submenu.
    • Select the Mail tab on the top of the Accounts window.
    • Select your mail account and click the Edit button.
    • Select the Account Settings tab on the top of the Edit Account window.
    • Type in Email in the Account Name box.
    • Type in the name you want to appear in your email in the Name box. For example, John Doe.
    • Type in your email address in the E-mail Address box. If you don't know your email address it is your Swiftel Communications User Name with @swiftel.net on the end. For example, if your Swiftel User Name were johndoe then your email address would be johndoe@swiftel.net
    • Type in your User Name in the Account ID box. Please be careful when you type in your User Name because it is case sensitive. For example, the User Name JOHNDOE (all capitals) and johndoe (all lower case) are two different User Names.
    • Type in mail.brookings.net in the POP Server box.
    • Tick Save password and type in your Password. Please be careful when you type in yourpassword because, like your User Name, it is case sensitive.
    • Type in mail.brookings.net on the SMTP Server box.
    • Click the OK button.
    • Select the News tab at the top of the Accounts window.
    • All done! Click OK to save any changes.
    Outlook Express 4.5
    • Open Outlook Express.
    • Select the Edit menu.
    • Select the Preferences sub menu.
    • Under the Accounts heading on the left, select Email.
    • Type in the name you want to appear in your email in the Full Name box. For example, "John Doe".
    • Type in your email address in the E-mail Address box. If you don't know your email address it is your Swiftel Communications User Name with @swiftel.net on the end. For example, if your User Name were johndoe then your email address would be johndoe@brookings.net
    • Type in mail.brookings.net on the SMTP Server box.
    • Type in your User Name in the Account ID box. Please be careful when you type in your User Name because it is case sensitive. For example, the User Name JOHNDOE (all capitals) and johndoe (all lower case) are two different users.
    • Type in mail.brookings.net in the POP Server box.
    • Type in "Swiftel" in the Account Name box.
    • All done! Click OK to save any changes.
