DSL Internet Setup Instructions for

Thank you for Choosing Swiftel Communications as your Internet Service Provider.  For your convenience, we have put together this instructional packet to assist you in setting up your computer to connect to the Internet.

Turn the page and we will begin your setup process.

Configure your Network settings

  1. Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel
  1. In Control Panel, right click on Network, and choose Properties
  1. Inside the network control panel, highlight the TCP/IP protocol that is for your Ethernet card, and click on “Properties”.

Select the DNS Configuration tab and select Disable DNS

Next click the IP Address tab and select Obtain an IP address automatically

Click OK, then OK again and restart your computer when asked.  After computer is done restarting, proceed to step 2.

STEP 2: Internet Setup

From the Start Menu, go to Settings, then click on Control Panel

In the Control Panel, double click on the Internet Options

On the Internet Options window, click on the connections tab, then make sure ‘Never Dial a Connection’ is selected

Click Apply, then OK, and you are ready to go.  Just start Internet Explorer or another web browser and you will be surfing the web!
