CTI / TAPI / TSAPI Business Systems from Swiftel Communications

Computer Telephone Integration (CTI) is the exchange of "messages" between computers and telephone equipment. CTI applications enable businesses to have easier and faster access to information contributing to increased productivity and enhanced levels of customer service.

Telephony Applications Program Interface (TAPI) is a standard developed by Microsoft and Intel to enable computer applications to interact with telephone systems. TAPI applications are typically "first party call control" applications where the application is controlling the attached telephone.

Telephony Service Application Program Interface (TSAPI) is similar to TAPI in concept. However, TSAPI was adopted by Novell and AT&T for use when a LAN connects desktop PCs to a Novell Server. TSAPI uses "third party call control", where the application is not directly controlling the attached telephone but is having the Novell server and phone system perform this function on its behalf.

Swiftel represents TAPI and TSAPI products from Nortel Networks.
